Hanif helps Karachi Stars thump Advance Telecom
KARACHI: Hanif-ur-Rahman’s sensational five-wicket haul, including a hat-trick, powered Karachi Stars to a comfortable seven-wicket victory over Advance Telecom in their Group B encounter of the 26th Karachi Gymkhana Ramazan Festival Cricket Tournament 2011 for the Bahria Town Trophy here at the Karachi Gymkhana Cricket Ground on Wednesday.
Off-spinner Hanif recorded a hat-trick, the first of the tournament, in his fourth and final over to finish with the figures of five for 11 that reduced Advance Telecom to 116 for nine in 20 overs. Hanif then shared 50-run opening stand with Akif Alvi to kick start the chase. Tasawwar Abbas remained undefeated on 47 off 30 balls as Karachi Stars reached the target with nearly five overs to spare.
