Go Aish, PCC record wins in MA Shah Night Trophy
KARACHI: Test fast bowler Mohammad Sami grabbed three wickets to help star-studded Go-Aish Cricket Club regiester a comfortable five wicket win over Nasaki Eleven in the inaugural match of the Dr MA Shah night trophy at the Asghar Ali Shah stadium here on Tuesday night. Right-hand middle-order batsman Arif Mehmood’s brisk unbeaten half-century helped Nasaki Eleven to score a modest 125 for eight in 20 overs after they elected to bat first as Sami generated serious pace to dismantle the opposition. In reply, Pakistan’s T20 world cup winning member Shazaib Hasan came out blazing, as he struck three sixes and two boundaries in his 35-run cameo. Khurram Manzoor and Khalid Latif chipped in with 28 and 26 respectively, as Go Aish chased down the target with five wickets in hand and 16 balls to spare. In the other match, Omar Cricket Club (OCC) thrashed Pak Korangi by 59 runs here at the RLCA ground (Korangi). Promising left-hand batsman Ali Asad scored an unbeaten 81 to guide OCC to 159 for six in 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Usama Basharat took four wickets. In reply, Pak Korangi were all out for 100 in 17.1 overs. |
