BARBADOS: India made an attacking declaration before lunch after losing several wickets to set West Indies a target of 281 to win the second Test on the fifth and final day in Barbados on Saturday.
India, 1-0 up in the three-match series, declared on 269 for six midway through the morning session at Kensington Oval.
While a draw remains the most likely result, both teams can still push for a victory in a match that has been repeatedly interrupted by rain delays.
Having begun the day well set on 229 for three, India watched Virat Kohli go at the end of only the second over and it was the same combination of Darren Sammy and Fidel Edwards who accounted for VVS Laxman, 13 runs shy of a century.
India might have sought to consolidate, but Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in attacking mood and it proved costly as he spooned another Edwards delivery to Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Shortly after reaching the pavilion, Dhoni decided his side had done enough and called for an end to the innings.
