CSA welcomes SASCOC resolution
CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) on Monday welcomed the resolution passed at the annual meeting of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) at the weekend to endorse the resolution passed at the CSA Board of Directors meeting on August 20. SASCOC adopted the following unanimous resolution: “SASCOC helped Cricket South Africa with Senior Counsel Advice, the CSA Board deliberated long and hard, and eventually decided unanimously their resolution to this issue which they released to the media. The house agreed that the matter was dealt with through this process and therefore resolved that this matter was closed and CSA must be allowed to concentrate on building and developing the sport.” SASCOC also praised CSA for the decision announced at the same Board meeting to set up a transformation budget from its resources. “Delivery of sport and transformation tops the agenda going forward. In fact, CSA were congratulated on their new initiative of setting up a transformation budget from their resources to implement real transformation instead of paying lip service. Well done, Cricket South Africa.” CSA Vice-President AK Khan, who attended the SASCOC annual meeting, commented: “I was very heartened by the warm reception I received. We hold our annual conference next week to plan the way forward and transformation will feature very prominently in that. I believe we also have a responsibility as one of the country’s wealthier sporting codes to assist other less fortunate codes where possible. “We could, as an example, make office space available for administrative purposes at some of our larger stadia.” | |||
