Huda,Noureen star In U19 tourney
KARACHI: Medium fast-bowler Huda Pirzada bagged six wickets to guide Zone-VI to a thumping 10-wicket win over Zone-VII in their KCCA Girls Medicam Trophy (U19) at the KCCA stadium here on Tuesday.
Batting first, Zone-VII perished for 65 in 19.2 over, as they found no answer against the deadly bowling display by Huda. Samreen Mohammad and Umaima Sohail chipped in two wickets apiece. In reply, Zone-VI race to the target scoring 66 for no loss in just 5.3 overs. Areeba Shabban remained unbeaten on 22.
In another match, Noureen Afsar all-round show helped Zone-II defeat Zone-I by six wickets at the same venue. Set a target off 94, Zone-II were comfortably home with six wickets in hand and 15 balls to spare. Noureen Afsar top-scored with 24. Earlier, Zone-I made 93 for seven in 20 overs. Zoha Amin scored 36. Noureen Afsar took three wickets.
